2024 AAU Junior Olympic Games

    The AAU Junior Olympic Games are known as the largest national multi-sport event for youth in the United States. It has become the showcase event of the AAU Sports Program. Since its beginning in Washington, D.C., the AAU Junior Olympic Games have been conducted in 19 states and 30 cities across the United States. "There's nothing junior about it" has become the theme of the AAU Junior Olympic Games while growing to over 16,000 participants in over 20 sports.     USA Field Hockey is proud to partner with AAU Junior Olympic Games for the field hockey competition. In 2024, USA Field Hockey will invite top U-16 female and male athletes from across the country to participate. Girls are identified and selected based on their strong performance in Nexus, USA Field Hockey’s Olympic Development Pathway program. Boys are identified based on coach recommendations and/or a trying competing in the Cal Cup tournament, May 24-27, 2024.  Athletes will work with USA Field Hockey selected coaches who are trained in "The USA Way", under the tutelage of a USA Field Hockey-trained Coach Educator. The AAU Junior Olympic Games provides top U-16 athletes the opportunity to experience an Olympic-style multi-sport competition while enjoying the camaraderie, inspiration and learning from elite athletes in other featured sports.
