JPAC Battle Between U-21 USMNT & Chile Ends in Draw
SANTIAGO, Chile – Fans were treated to a tense, action-packed match to cap off the night at the 2026 Junior Pan American Cups. The No. 29 U.S. U-21 Men’s National Team and No. 20 Chile faced off, ending with a 2-2 draw.
Both sides came out ready to play, and back-and-forth first quarter finished scoreless.
At the 18-minute mark, Chile earned first penalty corner of the match, and the initial shot was blocked by Fabio Pace in goal.
It was excellence from the Junior Wolves to end the first half, as a cross sent in from Rory Bleeker was tipped in by a diving Sekayi Charasika. USA took the first lead as the match headed into halftime.
It was full drama for the second half, as Chile tied up the match, 1-1, early in the third frame. It was only fitting then that a USA penalty corner goal early in the fourth quarter would be called back, adding to the tension.
With less than five minutes remaining, USA earned a crucial penalty corner, which Charasika scored with a lofted shot to put USA up 2-1.
At the 58-minute mark, Chile found the equalizer, to the roar of the host crowd. The match would end with a 2-2 draw.
