USA Masters Ready for Final Weekend of 2026 WMH Masters World Cup

Ahead of the final two days of the 2026 World Masters Hockey (WMH) Masters World Cup, the six USA Masters teams in Brasschaat, Belgium and Breda, Netherlands stand at the ready to close out strong.

To close out the tournament, USA's Men's O-60 team will face Germany in the 5th/6th place match after their shootout victory over France. The Women's O-65s, who defeated Belgium 1-0, will play the hosts again in the second of a two-match 9th/10th placement.

O-60M: Australia 1 (3-1SO) – 1 USA (QF)

It was another well-played game by the USA Men’s O-60 against a tough Australia team. During the first quarter, Australia was awarded a penalty corner and converted it with a deflection into the goal. In the third quarter, USA was awarded a penalty corner of their own at the 36th minute. A superb goal was scored by Baldev Singh, putting USA on the scoreboard.  The game ended with a 1-1 tie going into a penalty shootout. USA did not fare well at the penalty shootout, scoring only once to Australia’s three. Kudos to goalkeeper Aji Prashant for keeping Australia at bay.

O-55W: USA 2 – 1 Chile

USA’s Women’s O-55s earned a 2-1 victory over Chile in the first crossover match. Elle Race broke open the scoring with Margaret Kelly to follow, putting USA up 2-0. Together, goalkeepers Lori Miller and Jen Anderson stifled Chile’s attacking efforts and helped secure the win.

O-60W: USA 4 – 0 Belgium

The USA Women’s O-60 squad put up a great team effort against host Belgium. Scoring opened in the second quarter from Christine Couteau on a penalty corner with a ball slammed in from the top of the circle. USA maintained high pressure across Belgium’s defense throughout the game, connecting passes and making great offensive opportunities. The second goal came from Kathy Frick in game play, and then another from Couteau on a corner.  With less than a minute left, Sharon Siegel touched one past the Belgium goalkeeper to make the final score 4-0.

O-55M: USA 0 – 2 Italy

The USA Men’s O-55 started off strong and dominated the first half against Italy on a very hot day. USA had several penalty corner chances, as well as a penalty stroke, but both did not result in any goals. After dominating to start the third quarter, the tides turned when a USA infraction resulted in a 10-minute suspension, which allowed Italy to get back in the game. Italy then scored against the run of play. USA pushed as hard as possible for the equalizer, only for Italy to get their second goal on a breakaway late in the game.

O-55W: USA 2 – 0 Canada

 In a complete team effort, the Women’s O-55 team shutout Canada, 2-0. Elle Race scored both goals and the USA midfield dominated the possession game, while the backline and both goalkeepers earned the shutout.

O-60M: France 1 – 1 (1-2 SO) USA

The match against France was a shining example of hard work and an impressive performance by the USA Men’s O-60s. In the first half, USA had couple of opportunities to convert on penalty corners but were unsuccessful. However, seven minutes into the second half, a brilliant field goal was scored by the ever-talented Bob Kholsa, putting the red, white and blue on the scoreboard. In dramatic fashion, France was able to score on a penalty corner, causing the match to end in a 1-1 tie. The shootout for the USA men ended with a blissful win with Greg Pereira scoring one goal during the first shootout and a second one on sudden victory. Once again goalkeeper Aji Prashant made several exceptional saves during the game and shootout, ensuring the Golden Wolves a win. With the win, USA advances to the 5th/6th place game.

O-65W: Belgium 0 – 1 USA

What a match it was between USA’s O-65 Women and Belgium. USA’s Josie Worthington found the back of the cage with a blistering shot in the fourth quarter against the host team to secure the team’s first win of the tournament. The amazing USA fans absolutely erupted, as USA was cheered on by an exuberant and encouraging contingent of team members, friends, and family, as well as a surprise visit from the Hun School field hockey team, touring from New Jersey. Jeannette Arnold was named “Maven of the Match”, pictured here with her grand-daughter Madison, who could be heard over everyone cheering on her grandma. Next up, the O-65 Women play Belgium again on Saturday for the title of 9^th place.
