The Action Continues for USA at 2026 FIH Para Hockey World Cup

Louvain-La-Neuve, BELGIUM – The competition continued for USA on day two of the 2026 FIH Para Hockey World Cup in Louvain-La-Neuve, Belgium. USA's Hockey ii (intellectual impairment) team showed marked improvement on both defense and attack to open up the day.

In the first match of the day, their third overall, USA faced Ireland. The red, white and blue allowed an early goal, but sustained good defensive pressure until the closing minutes of the quarter, when Ireland was able to score two more goals to take a 3-0 lead into halftime. The second half was much more even, seeing a pair of goals from both sides. USA's Scott Weisbrot scored in the 23rd minute, while Jessi Everett made it two for USA in the 28th. USA would fall, 5-2, to Ireland in the highly spirited and action-packed match.

The second match featured USA and Germany, with the latter taking over offensively. Germany scored eight in the first half and four more in the second to take a dominant 12-0 victory.

USA continues their Para Hockey World Cup journey tomorrow with two more matches. The first is at 4:00 a.m. ET against Italy, and the second at 9:00 a.m. ET against Pakistan.
