  • How and when did field hockey first become your game?

In 1992, I was playing soccer for our U-14 state team. Our school field hockey team was short on players and they asked me to join the team. Being a soccer player and athletic, this transition was easy. Once I picked up the stick, I fell in love with the game. This is how I started playing field hockey.

  • What does it mean to you to still be lacing up — and to wear the USA jersey — at the Masters level?

Feels like I am back to my young days where hockey was everything, no stress, no worries. It has been a great honor to wear the USA jersey at the Masters level. Being in the Veterinary Field, one of the highest stress jobs in the USA, field hockey has been a blessing that has saved me, as when on the field, I forget about all the stress and I feel like me.

  • If you had a moment to thank the people and places that keep you on the field, who would you name?

I would like to thank my daughter Anaya and my wife Gurpreet, they made this happen.

  • What can't you live without on gameday?

    Talking to the family

    Favorite pump-up song?

    Welcome to the Jungle

    Who's your field hockey idol?

Dyan Chand - three-time Olympic gold medalist for India

  • How and when did field hockey first become your game?

I grew with a hockey stick in my hand, my dad played on the U.S. team and I followed in his steps.

  • What's the field hockey moment you'll never forget?

Getting my first international cap on the U.S. team.

  • What does it mean to you to still be lacing up — and to wear the USA jersey — at the Masters level?

For me it’s truly and honor to still be able to put on the red, white and blue.

  • If you had a moment to thank the people and places that keep you on the field, who would you name?

For me it’s my wife for supporting me with the time I put in for training but also the traveling with my family that I get to enjoy.

  • What would you tell someone who's on the fence about giving Masters a try?

I would say give it a go. The hockey and adventures and friends you meet are amazing.

The Masters community is special to me I’ve made friends that are like family. Traveling and hanging out with all my teammates is special.
