How and when did field hockey first become your game?

I grew up watching my two older sisters play and I couldn’t wait to get to the high school to be a part of the team. I grew to love it more and more each year.

If you had a moment to thank the people and places that keep you on the field, who would you name?

Playing against Duke my junior year; time was up but we had a penalty stroke to tie it up. We missed but it was a heck of a game!

What does it mean to you to still be lacing up — and to wear the USA jersey — at the Masters level?

As a younger player and a collegiate player, I used to dream of playing for USA. I would follow the players I played against in college and loved seeing them on the big stage. I never thought I was good enough to be there, but I never stopped playing because I loved the sport so much. Now, here I am, because I loved the sport so much and never put my stick down, I am wearing the USA jersey.

What would you tell someone who's on the fence about giving Masters a try?

That first step is the hardest, but if you are still playing at 35+, this IS your group. No matter where it takes you, these are your people! At the very least you will meet a new group of women that share the same love for your sport.

How and when did field hockey first become your game?

At the age of 14 when I started high school. Never stopped playing.

What's the field hockey moment you'll never forget?

Playing against Pietie Coetzee during our U-18 Nationals (in South Africa).

What does it mean to you to still be lacing up — and to wear the USA jersey — at the Masters level?

I love it. How blessed are we to still play our sport that we love so much. And represent the U.S. while we are at it?  Priceless!

If you had a moment to thank the people and places that keep you on the field, who would you name?

In the last 20 years - Doug my husband! Without him this would not be possible. Before Doug - my mom who did not miss a game and has always been my greatest fan.

What would you tell someone who's on the fence about giving Masters a try?

Get off the fence and on the pitch You will not regret it!  There’s a world of like minded friends waiting for you.

Is there a teammate or friend the sport has brought into your life?

I have made so many new great friends since playing Masters. And though we live miles apart, when we see each other and step back on the field again, it’s like no time has passed. I’ve also made great friends through playing club hockey in NorCal and those friends are also still very much part of my life now.
