FIH Hockey World Cup Venues
The 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup will be co-hosted by Belgium and the Netherlands across two stadiums from August 15 to 30, 2026.
Belgium is hosting the FIH Hockey World Cup for the first time, at the brand-new Belfius Hockey Arena, located within the Centre Sportif Wavre. The Arena is a modern, permanent hockey stadium, which completed construction at the end of 2025. The stadium boasts 4,000 permanent seats, but for the World Cup, this will be expanded to 10,000 seats on a one-off basis. Belfius, global partner of the FIH Hockey World Cup in Belgium, will lend its name to this new Belgian hockey hotspot for the next five years.
The other half of the group stage will be played at the iconic Wagener Stadium in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Build in 1938, this Stadium has been owned by Royal Dutch Hockey Federation since 1980. With 8,000 spectator seats, the venue will temporarily be extended to welcome over 10,000 visitors. Wagener Stadium hosted the 1973 and 2022 World Cups, along with three EuroHockey Nations Championships, and seven Champions Trophy events.
During the group stage, four matches will be played every day in both the Belfius Hockey Arena and Wagener Stadium. But that's not all—there will be a real festival atmosphere surrounding the stadiums, including a fan zone, performances by top artists, good food and drink, shops, and all kinds of hockey activities. In the Netherlands, you will also be able to enjoy spectacular Hockey5s matches. In short, a total experience for both true hockey fans and anyone who casually enjoys the sport.
It is only the third time in history that both the men's and women's World Cups will take place simultaneously and in the same stadiums; the previous times were in Utrecht (1998) and The Hague (2014), also on Dutch soil.
Alongside the standard tournament, these same arenas will also host the inaugural 2026 FIH Para Hockey World Cup for athletes with intellectual disabilities from August 20 to 24, 2026.
