2026 Girls AAU Junior Olympic Games Selections Announced
DE MOINES, Iowa - Following evaluation at the 2026 Nexus Selection Camps, presented by Osaka Hockey, USA Field Hockey is pleased to announce the U-16 and U-18 Girls who have been selected to play in the 2026 AAU Junior Olympic Games.
This year’s event will take place at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa, from August to 2 to 4. Boys will partake August 4 to 6. These selected athletes will have the opportunity to participate alongside some of the best athletes in other sports from across the country. AAU Junior Olympic Games athletes have until Friday, July 3, 2026 to register online through their USA Field Hockey Membership Account, Sport:80. Selected athletes will receive an invitation and email in their account in the next 24 hours.
Players who are Nexus Championship alternates will remain on the NXC alternate list. If a spot becomes available, the player will be notified and given the opportunity to register for Nexus Championship. Should the alternate accept a Nexus Championship spot, a Junior Olympic alternate will be selected to fill their place. Players will only compete in one event.
The Amateur Athletic Union’s premier multi-sport event, the AAU Junior Olympic Games, brings together more than 14,000 athletes to compete in 20 sports. In the sport of field hockey, USA Field Hockey selects approximately 160 athletes to participate in the annual event. The event provides U-16 and U-18 athletes with the opportunity to experience an Olympic-like multi-sport competition while enjoying the camaraderie and inspiration from other top athletes in other featured sports. Selected athletes are responsible for all their expenses, including the AAU tournament fee, travel, housing and food. The estimated cost of the event includes the registration fee of $325 plus room and board, travel and AAU fees.
