USA Field Hockey Launches Explore in In the Circle

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USA Field Hockey is please to announce the launch of Explore, a new coach development experience available through In the Circle, USA Field Hockey’s Member App.

Launching on National Field Hockey Day, Explore gives coaches a place to discover new ideas, hear different perspectives and keep learning throughout the year. Explore is included with USA Field Hockey Membership and is designed to become a resource coaches return to again and again.

“Providing meaningful value to our members is central to our mission,” said Liz Sanders, USA Field Hockey's COO. “Explore offers a centralized hub for trusted resources, ongoing learning, and professional growth opportunities that support coaches throughout their development journey. As the sport continues to evolve, we are committed to expanding and refining the platform to meet the changing needs of USA Field Hockey's Membership.”

Inside Explore, coaches can find:

Games & Practice Ideas: Games, exercises, session ideas and planning inspiration that can be adapted to different athletes and environments.

Tools: Resources to support planning, reflection, organization and everyday coaching.

Content will explore topics such as practice design, athlete-centered coaching, game-based learning, communication, team culture, health and well-being, goalkeeper development, game-day decisions and more.

“Professional development is about continuing to think, reflect and grow as a coach - challenging assumptions, asking why and staying curious about the game, our athletes and our own coaching,” said Craig Parnham, USA Field Hockey's High Performance Director, who has helped shape many of the coaching concepts behind 'The USA Way'. “Explore creates space for that. Coaches can engage with an idea, consider what fits their environment and continue shaping how they coach.”

Explore is designed to meet coaches wherever they are in that process. A coach might visit looking for a new perspective on a familiar challenge, insight into how athletes learn or an idea that helps them see their environment differently. The goal is not to provide one answer, but to support coaches as they reflect, adapt and make decisions for the athletes in front of them.

Explore will continue to grow, with new ideas, voices, resources and learning opportunities added throughout the year, giving members new reasons to return, discover and keep developing.
