USA Field Hockey Opens Nominations for 2024 Hall of Fame
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USA Field Hockey Foundation is excited to announce that the nomination period is now open for the 2024 USA Field Hockey Hall of Fame, with the induction Ceremony being held on Friday, May 24, 2024 in Los Angeles, Calif. Since its establishment in 1988, the USA Field Hockey Hall of Fame has recognized individuals who have achieved success internationally and made significant contributions to the organization.
Two new categories, Coaches and Officials, have been added to the Hall of Fame. The Honorary Member category will be retired and replaced with Contributor. Those who were elected to the Hall of Fame as Honorary Members will retain the title, but those inducted into the 2024 class and beyond will be Contributors. These additional categories and changes allow USA Field Hockey to recognize all members who have made significant contributions to the sport and USA Field Hockey. The USA Field Hockey Hall of Fame will now include Athletes, Coaches, Officials and Contributors.
- Athletes – awarded to USA Field Hockey athletes for their on-field achievement, innovation and contributions to the sport internationally
- Coaches – awarded to USA Field Hockey coaches for their on-field achievement, innovation and contributions to the sport internationally
- Officials – awarded to USA Field Hockey officials for their on-field achievement, innovation and contributions to the sport internationally
- Contributor – awarded to members of the association who have given long and exceptional service to USA Field Hockey and have made significant contributions to the sport in the United States or internationally
Nominations for the 2024 Hall of Fame will be accepted through Sunday, October 8, 2023. Following the nomination closing date, the newly established and appointed Veterans Committee will review applicants, fact check and make vetted recommendations to the Hall of Fame Selection Committee. The Selection Committee, appointed by the USA Field Hockey Board of Directors and comprised of member volunteers, will review all Hall of Fame applications. Inductees will be announced on Monday, November 20, 2023.
