USA Field Hockey's Umpiring Department conducts an outdoor and an indoor rules briefing annually. Some briefings are available live on usafieldhockey.com. All briefings are posted online for educational purposes. The Outdoor Rules Briefing is produced in early August of each year and covers rule updates, trends and changes to processes and protocols. The Indoor Rules Briefing is produced in late November or early December each year and covers the indoor version of the game with the same rule updates, trends and changes to processes and protocols.
