2024 Junior Pan American Championships Schedule Revealed
SURREY, Canada – With 50 days until the start of competition, the Pan American Hockey Federation (PAHF) has revealed the competition schedule for the 2024 Junior Pan American Championship (JPAC). Taking place July 3 to 12 at Tamanawis Park in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, this men's and women's event is a qualifier for the 2025 FIH Hockey Junior World Cups (JWC).
The countries participating in the men’s competition are No. 3 Argentina, No. 14 Canada, No. 17 Chile, No. 25 USA, No. 31 Brazil and No. 44 Mexico. On the women’s side is No. 2 Argentina, No. 7 USA, No. 15 Canada, No. 16 Chile, No. 23 Uruguay and No. 40 Mexico.

At the 2023 JPAC, the U.S. U-21 Women’s National Team took home gold for the second time in history and first time since 2008. The Junior Eagles took down Argentina – a team they had lost to back in pool play – in a thrilling shootout fashion. With the first-place finish the team secured qualification to the 2023 JWC, where they finished 10th in the world. In addition to their two gold medals, the Junior USWNT took home silver in 1988, 2000, 2005 and 2016, and bronze in 1997, 2012 and 2021.
The U.S. U-21 Men’s National Team will be looking for redemption after finishing fourth at the 2023 JPAC, narrowly missing out on JWC qualification. The Junior Wolves fell 4-1 to Chile in the bronze medal match. In the history of JPAC, the Junior USMNT has brought home bronze twice, in 2008 and 202.
In preparation for the upcoming JPAC, the U-21 USMNT went on a Holland Tour that wrapped up in April. The tour was a crucial part of preparations for the young squad, and the team will meet next at the end of May for a training camp in Moorpark, Calif. A final JPAC Preparation Camp will take place June 26 to 29 in Charlotte, N.C.
Following three Selection Camps earlier this year, the first Training Camp for the U-21 USWNT will take place this coming weekend, May 17 to 19, in Charlotte, N.C. One final Training Camp before JPAC for the Junior Eagles is set for June 27 to 29 in the same location.
The top three teams of each gender at the 2024 JPAC will qualify for the 2025 JWC. Traditionally consisting of 16 teams, the 2025 JWC and onward will feature 24 teams.
