We Are In: U.S. National Teams Confirmed to Return to LA28 Olympic Stage
For decades, athletes, coaches, families and fans have carried one relentless dream: to see the United States compete for Olympic glory on home soil. It’s no longer just a dream—it’s reality.
After months of review and approval by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and International Hockey Federation (FIH), USA Field Hockey is proud to announce that both the U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Teams will compete at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
USA, as host country have earned their allocated quota places on the basis that the men’s and the women’s team have satisfied the FIH criteria of appearing on a ranking of 25 or better in the FIH World Rankings since the end of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
For the U.S. Men’s National Team, this is more than qualification—it’s a generational opportunity.
For two years, the Wolves have fought their way into the world’s top 25 rankings, proving time and again that their grit, consistency and heart belong on the Olympic stage. Their efforts have been relentless, marked by noticeable performances and a level of commitment that has pushed the program forward.
The last time the USMNT walked into an Olympic stadium was Atlanta 1996.
Now, three decades later, they will take the field again—this time in Los Angeles, in front of a nation ready to support their return.
The U.S. Women’s National Team returns with Olympic fire still burning. After competing in Paris 2024, they now look ahead to LA28 carrying the weight—and the pride—of a powerful legacy.
In Los Angeles 1984, the U.S. women won bronze, etching their names into American sports history.
Forty-four years later, another generation of women will chase their own story on the very same stage—and they will do so fueled by the athletes who blazed the trail before them.
This isn’t just an Olympic berth.
This is a celebration of everyone who has ever picked up a stick, stood on a sideline, coached a team, or dreamed that the game could inspire the nation.
LA28 is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to showcase the game to millions.
A chance to inspire new athletes.
A chance to honor our past and build the future.
A chance to medal—again.
USA Field Hockey is thrilled, humbled, and energized for the journey ahead.
Now, more than ever, USA Field Hockey needs the strength of the entire field hockey community.
Stand with the U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Teams. Support them on this journey. Believe in them on the Road to LA28.
Because in Los Angeles, the world will be watching…
We Are In, and we are ALL IN.
