DUNEDIN, New Zealand – In an unsanctioned match against New Zealand A, the No. 11 U.S. Women’s National Team put up a 4-1 win in their third match of the 3 Nations Tournament in Dunedin, New Zealand.

At five minutes in, the United Eagles got on the board first with a powerful backhand shot from Abby Tamer.

The second quarter was characterized as explosive for the United Eagles, with three dynamic goals from three different athletes. After defending a New Zealand A penalty corner, USA transitioned up the field quickly, finding Ryleigh Heck up top, who crossed the ball to Emma DeBerdine.

Less than a minute later, Hope Rose intercepted a pass up high, and a shot in from Lucy Adams was tipped in by Maddie Zimmer to put USA up 3-0.

The third goal of the frame and fourth of the match came from a perfectly placed penalty corner drag flick by Beth Yeager.

A quiet, scoreless third quarter came and went, as USA retained their 4-0 lead heading into the final frame.

The fourth was similar, seeing a few set piece chances but no further goals from USA. New Zealand A did not leave the game empty-handed, as Ruby Baker broke away to score in the last minute.
