Double NIT Action Set for This Weekend in Lancaster and Richmond

by USA Field Hockey

LANCASTER, Pa. & RICHMOND, Va. – After a three-day weekend on courts at the U-16 Girls National Indoor Tournament (NIT), presented by YOLO Sportswear, more age divisions are ready to converge and compete across state lines this weekend. The U-10 and U-12 Co-Ed age divisions will take place at Spooky Nook Sports in Lancaster, Pa. and the U-19 Girls divisions will be hosted at the Greater Richmond Convention Center in Richmond Va., with both locations playing from Friday, February 26 to Sunday, February 28.

While the field hockey community is thrilled to return to play, USA Field Hockey would like to reiterate that the success of NIT has been largely due to the several critical changes and protocols adhered to by all athletes, coaches, umpires, volunteers and staff. Those same procedures will continue to be in effect at both sites this weekend.

To help alleviate any questions and concerns on game day, USA Field Hockey highly recommends reviewing the following materials with essential information before arriving.

NIT Event COVID-19 Health & Safety Policies
USA Field Hockey will follow strictly enforced, pre-determined mandates for all NIT event weekends. These health and safety policies will be standard across all event weekends and may be adjusted at any time before or during the event by recommendations and mandates from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and state guidelines regulations. To view a detailed outline of all procedures, and day-by-day instructions, please click here.

Additional COVID-19 procedures can be found in the NIT Club Information Packet.

2021 National Indoor Tournament Event Program
Ensuring the health and safety of all teams, coaches, spectators and families is of the upmost importance.

As such, it is highly recommended individuals become familiar with, and bookmark, the official 2021 NIT Event Program on their mobile devices. Like year’s past, the program will provide critical and up-to-date information, including venue maps that detail all staging areas for athletes in accordance with COVID-19 Health & Safety Policies, scores, rosters, vendor information and more.

Please note that due to current guidelines, all schedules, scores and results will not be posted on-site, but rather in the Schedules & Results section of the Event Program through Tourney Machine. It is also recommended attendees install the Tourney Machine application. Once the app is downloaded and opened:

  • Go to Events
  • Search for an Event
  • Filter for the state the tournament is being played in
  • Choose USA Field Hockey National Indoor Tournament for the age group you are attending.

Touchline Video Live Stream & Video Coverage

Action Shots for Sale Following Event
USA Field Hockey’s event photographer Patrick Blain will be on site for the third time in Lancaster to capture action from the U-10 and U-12 Co-Ed NIT, and Dan Trevino will be covering Richmond. Photos will be captured from both sites, and while a small portion will be highlighted after the event in a gallery, thousands more will be made available for purchase in digital format following the event.

Final preparations are nearly complete in Pennsylvania and Virginia. With that, USA Field Hockey would like to welcome all of this year’s athletes, coaches, spectators and umpires to the U-10/U-12 Co-Ed, and U-19 GirlsNIT. Welcome back, stay safe, stay healthy and have fun this weekend!
