NCAA Field Hockey Championship Umpires Appointed

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – After last weekend’s NCAA Field Hockey Tournament play, USA Field Hockey and the NCAA are pleased to share the umpires selected to officiate at the NCAA Division I, II and III Semifinals and Finals coming up this weekend. These individuals were selected on their performance during the NCAA First, Second and Thirds Rounds.

 

“We at USA Field Hockey are very proud of the partnership built up with the NCAA and especially proud that all of the umpires throughout the NCAA Championships are umpire members with us,” said Steve Horgan, USA Field Hockey’s Director of Umpiring. “All have worked extremely hard and have dedicated much time and effort in advancing their umpiring. More than half of the umpires appointed to the championships continue to represent USA Field Hockey at various international events around the world. We wish everyone all the best for successful tournaments in all three NCAA Divisions.”

 

Selected for the 2021 NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championship are Ridge Bair (Virginia Beach, Va.), Mallory Federoff (Coraopolis, Pa.), Maggie Giddens (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Ayanna McClean (Trinidad & Tobago) and Lance Sarabia (Thousand Oaks, Calif.). Both Giddens and Federoff officiated at the 2020 edition which took place this past spring, with Giddens appointed to the title match.

 

Named to officiate at the 2021 NCAA Division II Field Hockey Championship are Morgan Ames (Yorktown, Va.), Mary Driscoll (Palmyra, Pa.), Katelyn Makovec (Norfolk, Va.), Benjamin Peters (Carneige, Pa.) and Suzi Sutton (Lancaster, Pa.). Driscoll and Peters officiated at the 2020 Division I Championship, the only division to host a post-season tournament.

 

For the 2021 NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championship Jade Carvalho (Ambler, Pa.), Andy Derr (Elizabethtown, Pa.), Andrew Estrada (Newtown, Pa.), Judy Strong (Hatfield, Mass.) and Judy Yurkofsky (Bel Air, Md.) were all selected to officiate.

 

The 2021 NCAA Division I Semifinals and Final are taking place at the University of Michigan’s Phyllis Ocker Field in Ann Arbor, Mich. on Friday, November 19 and Sunday, November 21. The first Semifinal between Liberty and Maryland will take place at 12:00 p.m. ET, with the second between Harvard and Northwestern at 3:00 p.m. ET. Both Semifinal games will be available on ESPN+. The NCAA Final will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. ET and will air on ESPNU.

 

The 2021 NCAA Division II Semifinals and Final are taking place at Biemesderfer Stadium at Millersville University in Millersville, Pa. on Friday, November 19 and Sunday, November 21. The first Semifinal between Assumption and West Chester will be held at 2:00 p.m. ET, with the second between Shippensburg and East Stroudsburg at 5:00 p.m. ET. Both the Semifinals and Final can be live streamed on NCAA.com.

 

The 2021 NCAA Division III Semifinals and Final are taking place at Trinity College’s Robin Sheppard Field in Hartford, Conn. on Saturday November 20 and Sunday, November 21. The first Semifinal between Middlebury and Rowan will be played at 11:00 a.m. ET, with the second between Trinity and Johns Hopkins at 2:00 p.m. ET. Both the Semifinals and Final can be live streamed on NCAA.com.
