40TH EDITION, 2021 NATIONAL HOCKEY FESTIVAL

From November 25 to 27, more than 140 teams competed at the 2021 40th edition National Hockey Festival at the Tournament Sportsplex of Tampa Bay in Florida. After the event was canceled in 2020, USA Field Hockey was thankful to be back under the palm trees with so many athlete, coaches, umpires, volunteers and fans from across the country and Canada.

New in 2021 was the Festival All-Star List! Athletes in were selected by umpires based off of good sportsmanship, teamwork and skill during the Festival. At the conclusion of each game, an athlete was identified from each team and at the end of the event, the athlete with the most tallies from each team was awarded the All-Star pick. This individual is a representative of each club/team, not the most valuable player.

FIH ODISHA HOCKEY MEN'S JUNIOR WORLD CUP BHUBANESWAR 2021

Right now, the U.S. U-21 Men's National Team is competing at the FIH Odisha Hockey Men's Junior World Cup Bhubaneswar 2021 in India. Capturing invaluable experience along the way, USA has their second placement match on Thursday, December 2 against Canada at 12:00 a.m. ET.

USA FIELD HOCKEY TO RETURN TO DISNEY
IN 2022
USA Field Hockey and Disney announced that the annual event will continue in 2022 but under a new event name. Organized and run by USA Field Hockey, the 2022 Sunshine Showcase at ESPN Wide World of Sports at Walt Disney World® Resort will take place January 28 through 30 in Kissimmee, Fla.

Registration for this event took place on November 17 and for the first-time ever sold out in 11 minutes. If teams are interested in being put on a waitlist, please contact events@usafieldhockey.com.
Congratulations to these seven U.S. Women's National Team athletes who earned their first international caps for Team USA in their series against Canada in Chula Vista, Calif.

2022 NITQ SITE ASSIGNMENTS
USA Field Hockey released the site assignments for the 2022 National Indoor Tournament Qualifiers (NITQ), presented by YOLO Sportswear. Sites will host up to 16 teams in tournaments across the country for a chance to participate at the 2022 National Indoor Tournament (NIT), presented by YOLO Sportswear.
 
Following the outbreak of a new coronavirus variant in South Africa, the International Hockey Federation (FIH) to put on hold the FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup South Africa 2021, initially planned in Potchefstroom from December 5 to 16.
The Michigan State Chapter worked with USA Field Hockey to host a series of youth, coach and umpire education events in conjunction with the NCAA Division I Semifinals and Final in Ann Arbor, Mich.

ESPN SPORTSCENTER TOP 10
EASTERN REGIONAL HS
The final play of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association Tournament of Champions Final, secured the No. 10 spot on ESPN SportsCenter Top 10 on November 20.
LIBERTY UNIVERSITY
Charlotte Vaanhold's game-winning goal in double overtime, giving No. 9 Liberty a 3-2 victory over No. 5 Maryland on Friday in the NCAA Field Hockey Championship Semifinals made No. 8 on ESPN SportsCenter Top 10 plays for November 20.
OFFICIALS CONFIRMED FOR 2022 & 2023 FIH WORLD CUPS
The International Hockey Federation confirmed the names of the officials - umpires, technical delegates, technical delegates assistants, technical officials, umpire managers and medical officers - who will be involved in the FIH Hockey Women's World Cup Spain and Netherlands 2022 and FIH Odisha Hockey Men's World Cup Bhubaneswar and Rourkela 2023.
