U-21 USWNT to Compete in Uniphar 5-Nations Tournament in Ireland
by USA Field Hockey

DUBLIN, Ireland – After a recent training camp, U.S. U-21 Women’s National Team Head Coach Tracey Paul has named the 20-athlete roster that will travel to Dublin, Ireland to compete in the Uniphar 5-Nations Tournament from June 19 through 26. This marks the U-21 squad’s first competition following the FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup in April where USA will face India, Ireland, The Netherlands and Ukraine in a round-robin style event at The Hockey Centre.
"I’m super excited by the selected group and look forward to seeing the hockey they can produce in a short space of time,” said Tracey Paul, U-21 USWNT Head Coach. “Lauren Wadas will captain the team which returns both goalkeepers and five field players from the Junior World Cup squad.”
Paul goes on to say that this tournament is an excellent opportunity for the U-21 USWNT to gain experience by being exposed to different international playing styles. She explains it is a great chance to watch the senior women’s Ireland and Japan squads play international matches as they prepare for the World Cup.
“Although we've had limited time together, I have no doubt that the team will show great resilience and determination to perform fantastically and improve through the whole tournament."
