In 2021, for the second time in JPAC history, the U-22 USMNT brought home bronze after beating Canada in a shootout. Deadlocked at 1-1 following regulation, the shootout went down to the final person where USA capitalized on a foul and converted the penalty stroke for the win. Although USA missed out qualifying for the 2021 FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup event directly, they were invited as the first reserve from the Pan American Hockey Federation region after Australia and New Zealand pulled out.

Pre-JPAC Preparation Camps will take place March 10 to 12 in Chula Vista, Calif. and April 1 and 2 in Charlotte, N.C., including scrimmages with the U.S. Women’s National Team. The squad will leave for Barbados on April 6 to get acclimated and train onsite prior to the start of the event.

The top three men’s teams at the JPAC will qualify for the 2023 FIH Junior Hockey World Cup, set for December 1 to 17 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
