Indoor USMNT Tally Second Win over Czech Republic U-21 at Rohrmax Cup

VIENNA, Austria – The U.S. Men's National Indoor Team tallied their second win of the 2023 Rohrmax Cup in Vienna, Austria, when they defeated Czech Republic U-21, 4-3.


Pat Harris (Moorpark, Calif.) opened the scoring in the 8th minute off a field goal to give USA a 1-0 lead. Four minutes later, Kei Kaeppeler (Stuttgart, Germany) extended that lead and added a second. The Czech Republic added on back to bring the halftime score to 2-1.

 

In the 24th minute, USA was issued a penalty stroke and Aki Kaeppeler (New York, N.Y.) converted to make it 3-1.

 

In the fourth quarter, Czech Republic came out pressing and scored a field goal 40 second into the frame. Vincent Heller (Stuttgart, Germany) added his name to the scoresheet in the 34th minute off a field goal.

 

With the match 4-2 in favor of USA, Czech Republic didn't let up and continued your hard press and converted a penalty corner in the 35th minute to bring the final to 4-3.

 

The win put USA into the semifinal round as they take on Switzerland U-21 tomorrow at 6:30 a.m. ET in their third and final pool game of the Rohrmax Cup.
