Son of Alberto Montilla and Alejandra Ochoa; has a brother, Alejandro Montilla Ochoa. Started playing field hockey in 2004 in Spain, and moved to the United States in 2012. Joined the U.S. Men's National Team in 2019 and was named team captain in 2025. Favorite Sports Quote: "If you can see it in your head, and you have the courage enough to speak it, it will happen."

Born in Venezuela, Montilla grew up in Spain, where he began playing field hockey before moving to Allen, Texas, during high school. He progressed through the U.S. Men’s National Team pipeline, joining the Junior USMNT in 2016, earning his first senior USMNT cap in 2019, and being named team captain in 2025. Montilla moved to Charlotte, NC, in 2025 to train full-time with the national team in preparation for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Outside of hockey, Montilla is a computer engineer and co-founded Spatiam Corporation in 2020, a space telecommunications startup developing the interplanetary internet to connect humanity across the solar system.
