Cunningham's hockey career began at the age of 5 and has only gained momentum. His caretaker was a coach of the sport and took Cunningham to the pitch where he has become rooted to game. Cunningham keeps coming back for more because of the high intelligence level require to excel in field hockey. Cunningham joined Team USA in 2014 contributing his stellar hand-eye coordination and speed to the red, white and blue lineup.
