What began as her neighbor’s hobby turned into a lifelong passion for Dessoye. After spotting her neighbor playing field hockey in the front yard in sixth grade, Dessoye was intrigued and asked to join in. She has been playing ever since. In middle school she her teammates turned into friends and the group continued playing into high school where her competitive nature was given turf to come alive, a passion she kept ignited through her college years and contending with the U-21 USWNT. Dessoye looks to extend her career and competiveness at the senior national team level.
