Dixon didn't even know what field hockey was until sixth grade (12 years old) and when her school started a team she figured she would give it a try. She played soccer and basketball growing up and played all three sports throughout high school. She decided to focus on field hockey and developed a true passion for the sport in high school and the rest is history
