USA Field Hockey Announces Exceptional 2026 Hall of Fame Class
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USA Field Hockey is pleased to announce the 2026 inductee class of the Hall of Fame. This class honors seven individuals, with four Athletes and one each in the categories of Coach, Official and Contributor.
This coming year’s class includes Katie (O’Donnell) Bam, Jackie (Kintzer) Briggs, Melissa Gonzalez and Ben Maruquin as Athletes, Pam Hixon as a Coach, Renee Chatas as an Official, and Alva Serrette as a Contributor. All seven of these individuals have played, represented or served the sport, USA Field Hockey and other organizations in impactful ways that have shaped it for the better.
“I’m delighted to welcome these seven inductees into the USA Field Hockey Hall of Fame,” said Simon Hoskins, USA Field Hockey's Executive Director. “The on-field accomplishments and ongoing support of Katie, Jackie, Melissa, and Ben make them truly deserving of this recognition. It is equally fitting to honor Pam as a Coach for her longstanding dedication to the sport, and Renee as an Official for her incredible achievements in representing USA at the highest level. Alva has long been, and continues to be, a respected leader whose commitment to growing and developing the sport has never gone unnoticed.”
“We are extremely honored and privileged to be able to welcome this class into the USA Field Hockey Hall of Fame,” added Chip Rogers, USA Field Hockey’s Board of Directors Chair and Hall of Fame Committee Chair. Each of these seven honorees not only distinguished themselves as players, coaches, umpires or contributors but also has continued to serve the sport in various capacities throughout their lives. They reside at very summit of the sport while they also exist at the very core of the organization in their dedication to and love for hockey.”
The 2026 USA Field Hockey Hall of Fame Class will be celebrated in May, in conjunction with the Atlanta Cup. Also at this time, the organization will be honoring the 30th anniversary of the Atlanta 1996 Olympic teams. More information to follow.
Since its establishment in 1988, the USA Field Hockey Hall of Fame has recognized individuals who have achieved success internationally and made significant contributions to the organization. In 2024, two new categories, Coaches and Officials, were added to the Hall of Fame. The Honorary Member category was retired and replaced with Contributor. Those who were elected to the Hall of Fame as Honorary Members will retain the title, but those inducted into the 2024 class and beyond will be Contributors. These additional categories and changes allow USA Field Hockey to recognize all members who have made significant contributions to the sport and USA Field Hockey. The USA Field Hockey Hall of Fame will now include Athletes, Coaches, Officials and Contributors.
In the lead up to the celebration, a biography on each of these deserving honorees will be featured on USA Field Hockey’s website.
