DUNEDIN, New Zealand – U.S. Women’s National Team Head Coach David Passmore has named the 22-athlete squad that will travel to Dunedin, New Zealand for a warm weather training camp and a 3 Nations Tournament, which features four teams. The teams participating in addition to the No. 12 United Eagles are No. 11 Japan and No. 9 New Zealand, who are just ahead of the U.S. in the world rankings, along with New Zealand A. Taking place from January 20 to 24, this will be the USWNT’s first official competition of 2026 as they build into an exciting year featuring the FIH Hockey World Cup.

“This is the perfect opportunity to start the buildup to August’s World Cup with some warm-weather training and quality competitive matches against two international teams currently ranked ahead of ourselves but whom we have had some good recent results over,” commented Passmore. “It will be exciting to start the preparation for the Nations Cup and World Cup in the summer and competition for places after an intense, tight training block this fall. The South Island is a beautiful part of the world and we thank New Zealand Hockey for hosting us as our relationship continues to blossom.”

This veteran squad integrates some collegiate talent while also welcoming back athletes from injury. Ryleigh Heck (Ocean City, N.J.), Abby Tamer (Dexter, Mich.) and Makenna Webster (St. Louis, Mo.) all join the group finishing excellent collegiate careers, with Webster looking to earn her first international cap. Both Bethany Dykema (Newport News, Va.) and Jillian Wolgemuth (Mount Joy, Pa.) return from knee injuries and are eager to get back on the pitch.
