2025 USA Field Hockey National Club of the Year Award Winner: AGH Field Hockey Club
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Following the announcement of all winners, USA Field Hockey is individually highlighting each recipient of USA Field Hockey’s 2025 Annual Awards. This week, USA Field Hockey is honored to feature the 2025 National Club of the Year winner, AGH Field Hockey Club.
AGH Field Hockey Club has grown from a small, passionate startup program into one of the nation’s most respected and successful organizations. Since its launch in 2016, AGH has been dedicated to creating an environment where athletes are challenged to reach their highest potential while developing confidence, leadership, and a lifelong love for the sport. Built on a commitment of excellence, integrity and community, AGH has become a place where athletes, families, and coaches work together to elevate performance, support one another, and contribute to the continued growth of the game in the United States.
Based out of Greenwich, Conn., the club was founded under the leadership of Alexandru Gheorghe and Clara Ambrose in 2016, with their first competitive season being the 2016-17 indoor one. When they launched, they had just four indoor teams and in the last ten years have grown to support more than 35 teams ranging from the U-10 to U-19 age groups.
AGH participates in numerous tournaments and showcases and has hosted the Region 4 Regional Club Championships annually since 2018, where they have won titles in at least two age groups since. This has qualified AGH for the National Club Championship for the past eight years where they have had multiple top-three finishes. AGH is repeatedly ranked in the top-20 in USA Field Hockey’s National Club Rankings and current have their U-14 ranked 2nd, U-16 sitting at 4th and U-19 group in 16th.
AGH has developed multiple athletes that went on to be named to the indoor and outdoor Junior U.S. Women’s National Team. The club has achieved 150 college commitments across the NCAA programs and currently has 77 alumnae competing at Division I and III institutions.
With a mission to provide a comprehensive development pathway from introductory levels through elite competition, with an emphasis on technical excellence, tactical understanding, physical preparation, and mental resilience, AGH has used their knowledge and dedicated coaching staff to make this a reality.
Congratulations once again to AGH Field Hockey for winning the 2025 National Club of the Year Award.
