VIENNA, Austria - The No. 15 U.S. Men's National Indoor Team topped hosts SV Arminen, 5-2, in the opening men's match of the 44th Rohrmax Cup in Vienna, Austria.

It was midway through the first quarter when USA took the first lead. Following an initial shot from Max Schönfelder, Bennet Nobereit was on the rebound and Jack Weitzman put it in off the post. With less than a minute remaining in the frame, a defensive error by USA resulted in a SV Arminen penalty corner goal to even the contest, 1-1.

The Wolves retook the lead just before the halftime horn through individual perseverance from Schönfelder, who managed to create space under pressure and shoot the ball past the goalkeeper.

It was a three-goal third quarter. First, just 20 seconds from the start, USA tallied when a quick passing sequence between Mohan Gandhi, Mehtab Grewal, and Vincent Heller was finished by Gandhi. Next, SV Arminen cut the margin in the 23rd minute. Lastly, a quick long hit restart following an unsuccessful penalty corner led to Heller tapping in a cross from Jasper Pouw.

Grewal closed out the scoring for USA in the 31st minute after a solid midfield interception that led to an individual run and goal, as the Wolves closed it out with a 5-2 victory.
