Mulder Names Roster to Compete in 2024 Indoor Pan American Cup

CALGARY, Canada – U.S. Men’s National Indoor Team Head Coach Jason Mulder and his coaching staff have named the 12-athlete roster that will compete at the men’s Indoor Pan American Cup (IPAC). The 2024 edition will take place at the Sevens Chiefs Sportsplex in Calgary, Alberta, Canada from March 17 to 22 and is the continental qualifier for men’s FIH Indoor Hockey World Cup.

“Firstly I want to congratulate everyone on their selection,” commented Mulder. “As always, representing the USA is a special achievement and I know each one of the athletes understand that. We had to navigate quite a few calendars this year, but the staff had fun planning this season and ensuring we have continuity through each event. The IPAC squad is a product of it all. We have a group that has played some competitive indoor as well as a few from the Indoor World Cup group.”

The last men’s IPAC took place in 2021 and was hosted at The Training Center in Spring City, Pa. Although the, now ranked No. 8, USMNT finished second, and just missed direct qualification, the talented group punched their ticket after a nation withdrew. Two athletes from the 2021 IPAC roster return for this year’s event, in Christian DeAngelis (Doylestown, Pa.) and Ajai Dhadwal (Agoura Hills, Calif.). After a brief hiatus, Rob Schilling (Hertford, United Kingdom), who competed in the 2008 and 2010 tournaments, returns to the Indoor USMNT squad.

Mulder will lead the squad and Adi Pasarakonda is the assist coach. They are supported by team manager Nigel Traverso, videographer Gabriel Lee and physiotherapist Bethany Essalhi.

The format is round robin with the crossovers and finals taking place on Friday, March 22. From the men’s IPAC, the top-two finishing teams advanced to the FIH Indoor Hockey World Cup.
