Before stepping into the role of umpire manager, Soteriades umpired at events such as the 2018 Asian Games and 2019 Pan American Games.
After participating in her first international tournament at the 2025 Junior Pan American Games in Asunción, Paraguay, Makovec is back for her second in Santiago, Chile. She has officiated two USWNT series in Charlotte, N.C. (2023, 2025) and is a veteran of both USA Field Hockey events and college circuit. Tyson will be umpiring at his third JPAC, first appearing at the 2023 edition in St. Michael, Barbados and more recently in Surrey, Canada in 2024. His 2025 events included the FIH Women’s JWC, Junior Pan American Games in Asunción, Paraguay, and USWNT’s series against New Zealand in Charlotte, N.C.
