USMNT Prepping for PAC with Two Matches Against Canada

by USA Field Hockey

MOORPARK, Calif. – To prepare for the upcoming 2022 Pan American Cups (PAC), the No. 23 U.S. Men’s National team will host No. 11 Canada at Harris Field in Moorpark, Calif. for two matches, one friendly and one sanctioned.

“The USA-Canada test series will be part of our preparation for the PAC,” said Harry Singh, USMNT Head Coach. “It will give us an opportunity for a good selection tool as well. One of the problems we are having less competitions where you can select the team, and this test series will give us an ability to select the best players to compete at PAC.”

“The opportunity to play against Canada will provide us some perspective on what we, as a team, need to work on prior to a big tournament and show us that we can compete with high level international teams.”

Marking the first home series, but second in 2021 following the Europe Tour, the USMNT look to make the most of this two-game series as they turn their sites to the PAC this January. The last time they faced Canada was in a pool game at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima Peru, where the opposition won 4-0.

The USMNT will host a training camp from December 8 to 19, with the two matches played on Saturday, December 18 and Sunday, December 19.

Saturday, December 189:00 a.m. PT

Sunday, December 199:00 a.m. PT*
