by USA Field Hockey

Three collegiate championship winning coaches kicked off the second day of the 2021 National Coaches Forum (NCF) with a panel discussion facilitated by Craig Parnham, USA Field Hockey's Director of Coach Education and Learning.

Meredith Civico, Rutgers University Head Coach and 2021 Big Ten Champion; Tracey Fuchs, Northwestern Head Coach and 2021 National Champion; and Nikki Parsley-Blocker, Liberty Head Coach and 2021 Big East Champion, shared their insights on a range of topics and provided some wisdom into elements of their programs that underpinned their recent success. Next, Tokyo 2020 Olympic games men's winning gold medal head coach Shane McLeod gave a peek under the hood at the inner workings of the Belgium Men's that brought home silver at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games before triumphing in Tokyo. Lastly, Alyson Annan, another Tokyo 2020 gold medal winning head coach of the Netherlands Women's Team, shared her thoughts on how we can support the development of better field hockey players and teams through simplifying what we do both on and off the field.

The NCF continues tomorrow, December 10, starting at 11:00 a.m. ET with presentations on goalkeeping with Belgium Men's Goalkeeper Coach Steve Bayer, Mental Health with Mimi Smith and the U.S. Women's National Team's journey so far from Head Coach Anthony Farry.
