The last time that No. 15 USWNT and No. 2 Argentina met was in February 2020 for two games in the FIH Hockey Pro League. The first meeting saw moments of brilliance for the young USA squad, but Argentina's ability to convert out-powered the red, white and blue, 6-2. In the second match, Los Leonas scored in the second minute and never looked back on their way to a 6-1 win.

What You Need to Know:
Having finished second in the 2020-21 edition of the FIH Hockey Pro League and claimed the silver medal at the Tokyo 20202 Olympic Games, Argentina have very much re-established themselves as a team capable of threatening the dominance currently being shown by The Netherlands. Despite being beaten by the mighty Dutch in the Tokyo 2020 Gold Medal game, Las Leonas were the only team to defeat the Netherlands in the 2020-21 FIH Hockey Pro League, recording a 2-0 win over the Oranje in Buenos Aires thanks to goals from penalty corner ace Agustina Gorzelany and live wire attacker Delfina Merino.
