U-21 USMNT to Travel to Austria for Series in July

VIENNA, Austria – The U.S. U-21 Men’s National Team will travel to Vienna, Austria for a three-game series against the host nation’s U-21 squad from July 14 to 17. Taking place at Hockey Club Wein, this will be USA’s first outside competition of 2022, following training camp weekends in April and May.

“Cal Cup was a very good experience for the group,” said Pat Harris, U-21 USMNT Head Coach. “We are moving in a positive direction. The staff have selected a strong team and the games against Austria will be great for testing our abilities against a competitive international side.”

The roster features a core group of eight athletes that competed at the 2021 FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup in November in Bhubaneswar, India. They are Leo Baumgardner (Thousand Oaks, Calif.), Corey Dykema (Newport News, Va.), Mehtab Grewal (Somis, Calif.), Gurcharan Johal (Phoenix, Ariz.), Wyatt Katz (Santa Rosa Valley, Calif.), Tyler Kim (Arlington, Mass.), Tymen Kloen (Amsterdam, Netherlands) and Jatin Sharma (South San Francisco, Calif.). Grewal, Liam Hawley (Ventura, Calif.), Katz and Marius Leser (Mannheim, Germany) will also be coming off a senior tour in Scotland with the 4-Nations Tournament from June 29 to July 3.
