The 9th annual Junior Premier Outdoor League (JPOL) came to a close on June 12 and it is with such a relief that the Junior Premier Hockey (JPH) were able to overcome a few challenges in organizing and running this event during this new normal COVID-19 environment.

New this year was the U-19 JPOL Elite which was created to showcase some of the top youth clubs while playing in a format mirroring that of NCAA/FIH. All games were played at a university complex, on water-based turf, with time stoppage for every goal, short corner, injury, etc. The goal was to make everyone more familiar with the NCAA format thus creating an easier transition to the next level.

Over the course of the spring season the benefits of participation can be attested by those who were present at games being held across all regions. The improvements in the quality of games from the first weekend in April to the various championships are commendable and reflects the commitment of the athletes, parents, coaches, umpires, technical staff and many others.

At this time, JPH would like to recognize and celebrate all the victors and show their appreciation to all participants, supporters, volunteers and sponsors.

The continued success of this League would not be possible without the support of many who tirelessly give of their time and experience. Much appreciation to the club directors, coaches and their membership who join each spring to make this League possible. Many thanks to the umpire managers, technical delegates and their staff of dedicated technical officers and umpires. Each have given so much of their time and talent to be part of this event and its continued successes.

Special thanks and appreciation to the parent judges from each club who stepped up each week to give a helping hand at the technical table, making sure that the results, game clock and statistics are correct. Thank you for your service!

To the dedicated JPH Directors, Lurah Hess, Kim Scott, Rachael Bloemker and Nigel Traverso, for the countless hours of dedication behind the scenes that allow JPH to achieve and celebrate ten successful years of event planning and organization. Thank you all for continuing to grow the game!

A shout out to those college coaches who took the time to attend the numerous competitions in each region and to show their continued support. It is always a pleasure to have you all and hope you will continue to attend and recruit at the JPH events.

Much appreciation to the private institutions for granting JPH access and use of your facilities year after year. We hope to continue developing great working and supportive relationships and that you continue to make your facilities affordable and accessible to us.

Special recognition to the major sponsor Rothman Orthopedics, Savage Field Hockey - Official Ball Supplier, and Harrow Sports USA - Official Individual Awards Sponsor. Thank you all for your continued support!

To USA Field Hockey and Staff who we worked closely throughout the year, we appreciate the continued support shown in working together for the good of the sport and your membership. We thank you and look forward to continuing to build and strengthen our relationship as a Sanctioned Event, that benefits the membership and at the same time helps to Grow the Game by providing opportunities for athletes, coaches, umpires, umpire managers and technical officials.

And now we recognize and congratulate the 2022 Champions and Special Award recipients from each of the participating Regions, Elite and U-14 combined, for an outstanding performance.
