USA 4 - 2 Switzerland U-21 #
Since USA already qualified for the Rohrmax Cup Semifinals, the coaching staff focused on the attacking and defensive structure and demand more patience and discipline from all. This could be seen ffrom the first whistle as the squad moved the ball around looking and searching for the openings and the chance to attack.
Two minutes into the second frame, Kai Kokolakis (Melbourne, Fla.) got on the board to make it 2-0. In the 15th minute, Stuart Kentwell (Spring City, Pa.) improved the scoreline for USA, making it 3-0, off a great passing combination to end the first half.
Five minutes into the third quarter, Switzerland got their first real opportunity and converted on a field goal. This was the only goal of the frame.
Just one minute into the fourth quarter, Pat Harris (Moorpark, Calif.) received a long ball from Aki Kaeppeler (New York, N.Y.) just in front of Switzerland's goalkeeper, where Harris collected, spun and scored to make it 4-1. USA pulled their goalkeeper with 9 minutes remaining to practice the situation and understand the attacking and defensive structure required. Switzerland took advantage of a defensive error and got a penalty corner goal in the 33rd minute. No further goals were scored, with the final score standing 4-2 in favor of USA.
