U.S. Masters Transition Team Confirms Men's & Women's 2023-24 Indoor Season Tryouts

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The U.S. Masters Transition Team has confirmed the annual indoor tryouts for the 2023-24 indoor season for men and women in the O-35 and above age groups.

The indoor tryouts are set for Saturday, April 15, for both men and women at The Training Center in Spring City, Pa., from approximately 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET.

If you were born in or before 1989, you are eligible to play Masters Hockey in 2023-24 season and tryout for the U.S. Masters Indoor Squads/Teams this year.

Information relative to the trial will be sent by email the week of Monday, April 10.  Please use the link below to register and make note of the pricing structure.

Registration fees are outlined below and Early bird registration is encouraged.

$50 EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION: Now until Wednesday, March 22at 11:59 p.m. ET

$75 REGULAR REGISTRATION: Thursday, March 23 – Monday, April 3 at 11:59 p.m. ET

$100 LATE REGISTRATION: Tuesday, April 4 – Wednesday, April 12 at 11:59 p.m. ET

1. Registration closes on Wednesday, April 12 (11:59 p.m. ET).
2. There will be NO in person sign-up option at the tryout site.

For athletes that are interested but unable to make the tryout there is an alternative method for selection. You may submit an Alternate Selection which should include your field hockey resume, three references and video. If you are selected to the squad, you are not eligible for team selection until you attend a practice where coach(es) and/or selector(s) can do an in-person evaluation. The fee for alternate selection is $100 and is open Tuesday April 4 through Sunday, April 16. More information will be available shortly. 

All athletes must have an active USA Field Hockey Membership through the tryout period of April 15, 2023 in order to participate in a tryout. If you are renewing your membership, the anniversary date will be the same as your prior membership, not the date of renewal, so you will not lose any days in your membership. For World Masters Hockey (WMH) sanctioned international events (World Cup events), WMH requires that a player must be “a national of that country or have been a resident of that country for a minimum of 12 months.”

• January 2024: Boston Cup Indoor Tournament (Boston, Mass.)
• January 2024: BHFA Indoor Tournament (Baltimore, Md.)
• February 23-25,  2024: National Indoor Tournament (Richmond, Va.)
• March 2024: Big Apple Indoor Championship (Spring City, Pa.)
• March 2024 (third weekend): CanAm Indoor Series (USA based TBD) (trying to add a Masters division to this Junior and Senior USA vs. Canada event)
• Q1 2024: WMH Indoor World Cup (TBD)
