March 29, 2013 - U-17 Goal Scorers: Katie Trombetta and Laura Hurff
"Tonight’s game was a great game to close the tour," said head coach Shellie Onstead. "It was competitive throughout. We had some good chances and could have converted, but as a whole the team played very well and showed a strong progression throughout the tour. The coaching staff is very proud of them."
U-19 Goal Scorers:
"Tonight’s game was a nice way to finish the tour," said head coach Ainslee Lamb. "The team brought together some critical focus points that we were working on throughout the week. Overall the improvements over the span of the week were positive. This is a talented group of players that are sure to continue to impact USA field hockey in the future."
March 28, 2013 - "The team’s work rate today was above average as usual," said head U-19 coach Ainslee Lamb. "We are still learning how to work more efficiently so that we can produce higher quality results with those efforts. The team growth throughout the week continues to progress in the right direction."
"I am very pleased with our improvement from the last match," said head U-17 coach Shellie Onstead. "The team has been very responsive to learning on the fly and taking lessons learned from training sessions and film sessions out to the matches. We will add a few more elements tonight and finish this tour strong."
"Most of our success came from taking our mistakes from previous games and learning from them to make ourselves better this game," said Karlee Spirit. "Our main focus was on improving our attack penalty corners and we scored 3 of our 4 goals from them. We adapted well with our new formation and people in different positions. It was evident that our work ethic, communication, and teamwork was put to the test last night and our outcome showed we succeeded."
March 26, 2013 - U-19 Goal Scorers: Jessica Newak, Erin McCoy, Moira Putsch"Today was a turning point on the tour for our Under-19 National Team," said Assistant Coach Ryan Langford. "Competing against the Dutch national team opened our eyes to how good we can be. The result is not what we hoped for but the growth of the team was exponential. Playing back-to-back games is uncommon on a tour, yet it served us well today. In our second match of the day vs. Pinoke our energy was unmatched. We played hard and we played smart. Pinoke is one of the top teams in the Dutch league and we played them nose to nose."
"During both games today, we came out really strong and maintained a high intensity. The highlight of the day was our continual improvement on communication and our total team effort. We left the field excited for the future games, with a sense of unity," said Casey DiNardo.
"Today’s match was a good defensive test for us," said Under-17 head coach Shellie Onstead. "The defense played well considering Pinoke’s goals came on penalty corners and we were were under pressure most of the game. Over the two games we have had a good look at our offense and defense. On Thursday we look forward to a balanced performance. Sarah Furey and our goalkeepers (Sammie Steele and Kelsey Bing) had very good games and Char Vaziri showed some incredible courage as a first runner on defensive penalty corners.

"It was a good match to start off the tour," head coach Shellie Onstead said. "It gave us an opportunity to work on our offensive mindset and on our possession skills in the back half. We look forward to tomorrow night’s match against Pinoke and further development."
U-19 Goal Scorers: Anna Dessoye (3), Alyssa Parker (2), Moira Putsch, Gabby Major
"We were pleased with the teams result today for the first match of the tour," said head coach Ainslee Lamb. "There are some areas that we will look to make some significant improvements. With those changes, I am confident that we will be playing at the expected level by the end of the week."
"Today was a good start to our Holland tour," said Alyssa Parker. "After a slow first couple of minutes, our team began to connect and we were able to pull off a 7-1 win. We look forward to our upcoming matches and improving as a squad."
