Coaching Field Hockey: The USA Way

USA Field Hockey's Director of Coach Education and Learning, Craig Parnham, will be leading lead a 3-hour workshop on the morning of Sunday, December 8, along with Phil Edwards, USA Field Hockey’s Senior Manager of Coaching and Performance, titled “Coaching Field Hockey: the USA Way,” which incorporates the principles of play and effective coaching skills and techniques.

This workshop is open to coaches of all levels, from beginner to professional.

Topics of the “Coaching Field Hockey: the USA Way” workshop will include: 

• Practical application of tactical and technical skills
• Best practices of coaching, including philosophy and the GROW model andCHANGE IT principles 
• Applying the ADM and games-based, learner-centered principles
• Coaching in the Futures Program, a brief review of the 2019-20 Futures and Junior High Performance Curriculum, ensuring that all USA Field Hockey Futures Coaches are prepared to deliver a fun, learner-centered development and training experience for all male and female Futures participants
