USA Field Hockey has added a “Goalkeeping Workshop” to the workshop series. Teaching goalkeeping and developing and managing goalkeepers is a common challenge. This three-hour workshop will help coaches teach the correct goalkeeping skills and provide suggestions on working with multiple goalkeepers in a team setting.
The Coach Educator for this workshop will be Bryant University Head Coach Joppe de Vries. The focus of this workshop will be on teaching skills in a developmentally-appropriate way. New and experienced head and assistant coaches of youth, club, high school and collegiate athletes will be well-prepared to take their athletes and teams to the next level.
Joppe de Vries | USA Field Hockey Trained Coach Educator
De Vries has been a USA Field Hockey High Performance Center head coach in the Mid-Atlantic region since 2013 and continues to work with all three Junior U.S. Women's National Teams and serves on the coaching staff of the Junior National Camps.
He was appointed as the third head coach of the Bryant University field hockey program on July 1, 2017. Prior he spent four seasons at the University of Maryland and is an expert in coaching goalkeepers of all levels.
