USA Field Hockey is offering an online Starter and Local Level Indoor Umpire Clinic on December 16 and 18, 2025.

After hosting a number of extremely well attended and successful online clinics for the outdoor game, USA Field Hockey’s Director of Umpiring Sean Rapaport will lead an online opportunity for umpires, athletes, coaches and supporters to learn the key aspects of umpiring indoor hockey again this year as we approach a busy indoor season. He will share some of the key building blocks, tools and ideas that one should possess when developing into a good, consistent indoor umpire. Many of the concepts shared will be beneficial to not only indoor umpires but also coaches, athletes and supporters looking to understand and enjoy the game even more.

The two sessions of the Starter and Local Level Indoor Umpire Clinic will take place on the evenings of Tuesday, December 16 and Thursday, December 18, starting at 7:30 p.m. ET and not lasting more than 2 hours. All sessions will be presented online and the link will be shared with registered participants on December 16 after registration closes. Those registered but unable to attend the interactive sessions will be able to access recordings for a week after each sitting.

The cost of the Starter and Local Level Indoor Umpire Clinic is $25 for USA Field Hockey Members and $50 for non-USA Field Hockey Members. New in 2025, the cost for current high school and college athletes (members and non-members) will also be $25. Registration is now open and will close on Monday, December 15 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
