COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Field Hockey is pleased to announce that Pam Stuper has accepted the newly created position of Foundation Executive Director. She will begin her role this week yet her first engagement was at the 2022 National Field Hockey Coaches Association Annual Convention last week in Lake Mary, Fla.

“We are thrilled to have Pam join the Foundation full-time to lead our fundraising and development efforts,” said Patrick Durbin, USA Field Hockey Foundation Chair. “She embodies everything that is great about the sport of field hockey, along with a humility, work ethic and determination to assure the Foundation dramatically and favorably impacts USA Field Hockey in the years ahead.”

After serving as the Foundation Director since February 2020, Stuper will transition to the Foundation Executive Director. She will be responsible for leading the Foundation’s fundraising and outreach efforts in support of USA Field Hockey’s strategic imperatives to Grow the Game, Serve Members and Succeed Internationally.

Stuper is a force in the field hockey world with a long list of accolades for her playing and coaching achievements, as well as her service to the sport off the field. At the end of December, she concluded a 17-year run as Yale University’s Caroline Ruth Thompson ’02 Head Coach of Field Hockey.

She was inducted into the USA Field Hockey Hall of Fame in 2004 and was a member of the U.S. Women's National Team that won bronze at the 1994 World Cup, as part of representing her country for nine years. Having led Yale since 2005, she amassed the most wins in program history, and led the Bulldogs to the 2011 Ivy League Championship, the school’s first since 1980. She is a longtime U.S. Women's Masters Team athlete, having last represented USA in Spain at the 2018 Masters World Cup.

Stuper served on the Executive Board of the International Hockey Federation from 2010 to 2018 and the Board of Directors of the Pan American Hockey Federation from 2011 to 2015. She is a former USA Field Hockey Foundation Trustee and is also a member of the Old Dominion University Hall of Fame, having won three national championship titles as a Monarch. Stuper is a collegiate two-time All-American and an Academic All-American.

“I love our sport,” said Stuper. “I have been fortunate to have served in many roles within it, but this new role as Executive Director of the Foundation will allow me to directly impact the lives and experiences of our players and coaches and all who support them. I so look forward to getting started.”

Stuper is passionate about growing the game and succeeding on the world stage. She will report to USA Field Hockey’s Executive Director Simon Hoskins and Foundation Chair Patrick Durbin.
