O-60 Men Gear Up for 7th/8th Place Match at 2022 WMH World Cup in Tokyo

TOKYO, Japan - The U.S. O-60 Men's Masters Team gears up for the 7th/8th place match at the 2022 World Masters Hockey (WMH) World Cup in Tokyo, Japan, while the O-65 Men have one more pool game.

The U.S. O-60 Men's Masters Team took on Malaysia in their final pool match.

 

USA got on the board in the 2nd minute from a field goal by Kewal Singh (Fairfield, Calif.). They held that lead until the 14th minute when Malaysia equalized.

 

The game remained a deadlock until the 62nd minute when Malaysia converted on a penalty corner to claim the 2-1 win.

In their fifth pool game, the U.S. O-65 Men's Masters Team met Malaysia.

 

In a tough battle, Malaysia scored in the 3rd, 11th, 16th and 48th minutes.

 

The O-65 Men have their final pool game tonight at 9:00 p.m. ET against South X Spirit of Masters.

 


In a classification game, U.S. O-60 Men's Masters Team took on Canada.

 

USA got on the board first in the second minute when Joost Douwes (Stanwood, Wash.) found the back of the goal. Canada equalized two minutes later. The red, white and blue regained the lead in the 13th minute when Kewal Singh tallied.

 

Just before the halftime break, USA extended the lead to 3-2 off a Peter Jones (Stamford, Conn.) penalty corner goal. Canada responded and in a 6 minute span starting at the 39th minute went on to score three unanswered goals to regain and take the game.

The O-60 Men will play Scotland tonight in the 7th/8th place game at 11:00 p.m. ET.
