USA Field Hockey Continues Longest-Running Sponsorship with Longstreth

by USA Field Hockey

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USA Field Hockey and Longstreth are pleased to announce the continuation of the organization’s most long-standing partnership with a renewal through 2024.

“Longstreth and USA Field Hockey have a storied and long relationship,” said John Schaefer, Longstreth owner. “We are thrilled to work with USA Field Hockey to support their members and athletes. We are proud to support Team USA in the quest for international success, and growing the game remains one of Longstreth’s prime objectives, as it is for USA Field Hockey.”

The relationship between USA Field Hockey and Longstreth goes back to the 1950s when Longstreth founder, field hockey athlete/pioneer and Hall of Famer Barbara Longstreth was a member of the U.S. Women’s National Team. In 1977, Longstreth, then a coach and women’s sport advocate, began traveling to field hockey events around the country selling sticks from the trunk of her car. She eventually established a retail business, now located in Spring City, Pa., to serve and support field hockey (and other sports) by offering quality products and services to the field hockey athlete at every level from kindergarten to international and beyond.

Today, Longstreth is the USA’s leading field hockey retailer carrying a wide variety of brands including TK of Germany, Gryphon of Australia, Grays of England, OBO of New Zealand, Ritual of Australia and Osaka of Belgium, in addition to CranBarry which Longstreth acquired in 2021.

While a formal sponsorship relationship between USA Field Hockey and Longstreth goes back to at least the 1990s, an informal relationship between the two organizations goes back even farther, with Longstreth having continually offered product, support, promotion and sponsorships to USA Field Hockey over the years to raise the visibility of the sport to the public, support athletes and more. The relationship and joint goals to support women athletes, grow the game and promote the sport continued after Barbara Longstreth’s retirement from the business in 2007.

Longstreth also supports USA Field Hockey by vending at events and tournaments to provide a fun and festive atmosphere for participants, as well as convenience for athletes who are in need of equipment.

“USA Field Hockey is grateful for the long-term support of Longstreth and excited about the possibilities of a bright future together in meeting USA Field Hockey’s mission to Grow the Game, Serve and Inspire Membership and Succeed Internationally,” said Ginger Wheeler, USA Field Hockey’s Commercial Partnership and Marketing Manager.

The sponsorship provides USA Field Hockey Members with a 15% discount and free shipping on any purchase, contributes to the growth of field hockey as a sport in the USA with programs and support, and delivers budget-relieving high quality value-in-kind products and financial contributions to help propel the USA National Teams to international success.
