Q&A
What is the rationale for subs having to wait for players to exit after a goal when the clock is stopped?
How does the umpire know if it is intentional foul or just poor skill like MOST back sticks are?
On an aerial, when the ball is below the knees (on its way down) and below the knees (on its way up from a bounce) why can a player not run in and play it? It’s not dangerous.
Can you ask the trail umpire for a review or only the umpire that made the call?
Physicality - when a player is carrying a ball on their right and the defender is reaching across the body trying to get the to the ball. What does the official need to see to make that a foul?
I have seen at outdoor events technology such as a SoloShot. It’s a camera that has the player were a small bluetooth/wifi transmitter the size of a large watch face (under their uniform). It helps track the player so the camera moves automatically. Rules say no electronic devices. this is not communicating to advance the player, but simply to move the camera. Is this legal?
If an aerial ball is going to a clear receiver but there is a defender 3 yards behind, who doesn't attempt to play the ball (because it's going to the player in front), is it an advantage situation (as it used to be) or is it a foul this year?
A goalkeeper slide tackle in a goal saving action is carried into another player. Is this dangerous play?
The offense plays an aerial into the circle to a free and clear striker (no defender within 5 meters/yards when falling). Can the striker legally play/deflect while the ball is still in the air? How is danger assessed?
What happens if a goalkeeper dives for a save and loses his/her helmet unintentionally? Stop for Safety? Penalty?
Please discuss situations on a penalty corner when the player/shooter takes a legal aerial ball shot. A) if there is only goalkeeper; B) if there are other players within 5 meters/yards
Besides international play, are referrals’ in the United States only NCAA Division I?
Do players have to show the T to the managing umpire? Can't the players show the T for video review to either umpire?
If a free hit is taken directly outside of the circle, does the defensive player inside the circle have to be 5 meters/yards away as if they are backed up toward the stroke line? Or can they shadow right along the circle line?
Does a goalkeeper have to give 5 yards clearance on an aerial?
When is the extended penalty corner considered over?
