ASUNCIÓN, Paraguay – The No. 6 Junior U.S. Women's National Team faced No. 14 Chile in their second pool play match of the 2025 Junior Pan American Games (JPAG). Behind a hat trick from Alaina McVeigh and solid performance from goalkeeper Alyssa Klebasko, the Junior Eagles took a crucial 4-0 victory.

USA was hot to start, getting two goals in the first six minutes, both from Alaina McVeigh. The first came when Macy Szukics sent an aerial up the field to Alaina McVeigh, who passed to Lauren Masters and got a quick pass back and scored.

The second saw Alaina McVeigh take advantage of a Chile defender’s mistake, taking the ball and dribbling it herself into the circle, where she sent in a high shot.

In the second quarter Chile began to find their rhythm, earning four penalty corner chances. USA’s Alyssa Klebasko stood strong in goal, making saves on each initial shot she faced, allowing the defense to clear the ball out.

The Junior Eagles retained their 2-0 lead heading into halftime, despite facing a quarter dominated by Chile possession. Alyssa Klebasko remained on point in the third frame, shutting down a Chile offense that kept finding their way into the circle and earning set pieces.

USA found a burst of offensive energy as the final frame started, converting again to go up 3-0. A diving cross on the end line from Lauren Masters was finished with a reverse shot from Alaina McVeigh, who tallied her third goal of the day.

After surviving another group of Chile penalty corners, the Junior Eagles earned their own trio of chances deep in the fourth quarter. The chance at the 58-minute mark was converted by Maci Bradford on the post, giving USA a 4-0 win.
