Honorary Members Selection

USA Field Hockey Hall of Fame Honorary Members may be conferred by the Hall of Fame Committee on members of the association who have given long and exceptional service to USA Field Hockey and have made significant contributions to the sport in the United States or internationally. Honorary Members is conferred only when there are qualified individuals who have given exceptional service to the sport of field hockey.  

  • Criteria for Nomination

    1. Participation at the national level, playing, umpiring, coaching and/or service on national committees for at least fifteen years.

    2. In addition to fifteen years of service, the recipient must also qualify in a minimum of five of the following areas:

    • Involved with a U.S. Senior Elite Level Program for four years
    • Officer of USA Field Hockey for at least four years
    • Involvement with Junior Elite Levels for four years
    • Involved with administration for USA Field Hockey programs for four years
    • Member of USA Field Hockey Board of Directors (other than officer) for six years
    • Chairperson of USA Field Hockey standing committee for at least four years
    • Involvement with developmental programs for four years
    • Volunteered with USA Field Hockey programs for a minimum of four years
    • Maintain a National Umpiring Rating for at least six years and officiate at a minimum of 10 national events and/or international events
    • Hold an office in the International Hockey Federation (FIH) for six years
    • Exceptional and distinguished service in the promotion and growth of field hockey in the United States
    • Unusual meritorious service by an individual as a volunteer

    All USA Field Hockey Events from the youth to the Olympic Level. Involvement can consist of many different scenarios (i.e: announcer, scorekeeper, results, ticket collector, etc.)
