2022 NCAA Field Hockey Championship Umpires Appointed

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – After last weekend’s NCAA Field Hockey Tournament play, USA Field Hockey and the NCAA are pleased to share the umpires selected to officiate at the 2022 NCAA Division I and III Semifinals and Finals coming up this weekend. These individuals were selected on their performance during the NCAA First, Second and Thirds Rounds.

"We congratulate and thank them for their ongoing service to the game and look foward to seeing many of their faces on the international stage in the coming months and years."

 

Selected for the 2022 NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championship are Andrew Estrada (Newtown, Pa.), Maggie Giddens (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Katelyn Makovec (Norfolk, Va.), Ayanna McClean (Trinidad & Tobago) and Christopher Pothier (Shrewsbury, Mass.). Both Giddens and McClean officiated at the 2021 NCAA Division I edition. Makovec was part of the 2021 NCAA Division II staff and Estrada an official with the 2021 NCAA Division III.

 

Named to officiate at the 2022 NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championship is Jen Anton (Reading, Pa.), Jade Carvalho (Ambler, Pa.), Andy Derr (Elizabethtown, Pa.), Hannah Maisano (Somerville, Mass.) and Judy Strong (Hatfield, Mass.). Carvalho, Derr and Strong return to the pitch after being selected for Division III in 2021.

 

The 2022 NCAA Division I Semifinals and Final are taking place at the University of Connecticut's Sherman Complex in Storrs, Conn. on Friday, November 18 and Sunday, November 20. The first Semifinal between North Carolina and Penn State at 12:00 p.m. ET, with the second between Northwestern and Maryland at 3:00 p.m. ET. Both Semifinal games will be available on ESPN+. The NCAA Final will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. ET and will air on ESPNU.

 

The 2022 NCAA Division III Semifinals and Final are taking place at Rowan College's Richard Wackar Stadium in Glassboro, N.J. on Friday, November 18 and Sunday, November 20. The first Semifinal between Williams and Johns Hopkins will be played at 12:00 p.m. ET, with second between Middlebury and Rowan at 3:00 p.m. ET. Both Semifinals and Final can be live streamed on NCAA.com.
